black rainbow?

artist cai guo qiang had planned a one-minute explosion, creating a black rainbow over edinburgh castle, to mark the beginning of the arts festival. in the wind and rain, it didn't quite pan out as hoped and was overall pretty disappointing. here it is anyway.

the rainbow flags were out in force at the march. I've seen these flags copiously adorning the windows in rome. pace is italian for peace. it wasn't just a cheap knock-off because they'd missed out the "e", as one young man asked us!
